From opening up world-leading collections to connecting with communities of all ages through ambitious exhibitions and programmes, each one offers something special."
Waldman further emphasized the role of National Art Pass members in making the prize possible and encouraged public engagement with both the finalists and local museums across the country.

Supporting Museum Excellence Through Public Engagement
The Art Fund Museum of the Year prize is widely regarded as the world's largest museum award. It is funded through the support of Art Fund members who purchase National Art Passes, along with contributions from various funders and individuals who support the organization's mission.
National Art Pass holders enjoy special benefits including discounts at the shortlisted museums and numerous other cultural institutions across the United Kingdom. This system creates a virtuous cycle where public engagement directly supports museum excellence and accessibility.
The June 25 announcement will culminate months of anticipation as these five distinguished institutions await the final decision. Each represents different approaches to museum curation, community engagement, and historical preservation, making this year's competition particularly compelling for museum enthusiasts and cultural observers alike.
