A body has been discovered in a wooded area near a Stenhousemuir street following the search for a missing 16-year-old girl. Police Scotland were called at around 4.15pm on Thursday, September 3, after a body was found in woodland near McLachlan Street.
Family informed of discovery
Formal identification has not yet taken place, but officers have confirmed that the family of Jasmine Ferguson, who had been reported missing from the town two days earlier, are aware of the discovery. The teenager was last seen at around 2.30pm on Tuesday, September 1, in the Lamond View area of Stenhousemuir.
Death not treated as suspicious
Police Scotland officers have stated that the death is not believed to be suspicious. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
