Clarkson's Farm star Harriet Cowan has revealed a glamorous new look after a recent salon trip, delighting her 846,000 followers on TikTok. The 25-year-old farmer, known for her practical approach to rural life, shared the results of a haircut and French tip manicure in a video that attracted more than 4,500 likes.
From muddy wellies to pamper days
Harriet spends most of her time immersed in farm work and isn't afraid to get muddy in her wellies, but she still finds time to show off her glamorous side. When she's not operating a tractor or herding cattle, she enjoys swapping her overalls for elegant outfits at award ceremonies, festivals and days at the races.
In the video, she told her followers: "Had a chop. And new nails just for the farm." The clip drew countless complimentary comments, with one user writing "Looking good," another saying "You're so beautiful, Harriet," a third adding "She's beautiful inside and out," and a fourth commenting "Simply stunning."
Challenging stereotypes in agriculture
Harriet isn't just a pretty face – she's doing work to challenge stereotypes in the male-dominated agricultural industry. When she joined the Amazon Prime reality programme Clarkson's Farm, she immediately became a hit with viewers.
Speaking to the Express about her appearance on the show, Harriet revealed: "After the show, I just decided to follow my dreams and do the things that I enjoy, which are farming and doing my social media. One day, I hope to own my own farm, and that's something which I wouldn't have been able to do if it weren't for Jeremy and the show. I'm so incredibly grateful."
From assistant to independent farmer
Since then, Harriet's career has blossomed, transitioning from Jeremy Clarkson's right-hand assistant to an independent farmer in Oxfordshire. She even has a book due out next month.
One of Harriet's chief ambitions is to encourage other women in agriculture to make their mark in the industry. She told the BBC: "I think when you talk to somebody and ask what they stereotypically think of when someone says farmer they say '60-year-old man with a checked shirt and a beer belly', and a lot of the time that is it, but us women are out here and farmers too. Just because I'm a small blonde that likes to curl her hair and wear make-up, it doesn't mean I can't be a farmer. I'm trying to change the norm of the man being the farmer and the woman being the stay-at-home wife and cook. When the war was on, women did all the farming, so we have always farmed – it's just changing that stereotype."
