Pete Price has celebrated the career of Neil Fitzmaurice, describing him as an unsung Liverpool talent who has become a force in entertainment as an actor, comedian, and writer.
Early Life and Career Beginnings
Price and Fitzmaurice first met while working at Radio City Talk. Fitzmaurice attended Anfield Comprehensive in the 1980s and left school with few prospects, but he had a deep passion for acting. He joined the Neptune Youth Theatre, now known as the Epstein.
During a recent chat for Price's podcast, Fitzmaurice said his journey was a long, hard slog filled with rejection. He did not have an agent for his first ten years in the business.

Fitzmaurice has appeared in Brookside, Coronation Street, Holby City, and more recently, Waterloo Road. Price singled out his role as the hilarious Geoff in Peep Show and as Fergus in Mount Pleasant. As a writer, Fitzmaurice co-wrote the sitcom Phoenix Nights with Peter Kay and Dave Spikey, while also playing the character Ray Von. Price called the series comedy gold. Fitzmaurice also wrote and starred in the film Going Off Big Time, a gritty gangster thriller featuring the late Bernard Hill. Price attended the premiere in Liverpool.
