Ali G returns in new film trailer with Ed Sheeran swipe

Sacha Baron Cohen's wannabe gangster character Ali G is back after 20 years in the trailer for Ali G: Who Iz I?, which marks the actor's directorial debut. The new teaser, released on Tuesday (August 25), includes a cheeky swipe at Ed Sheeran.

Ali G returns with a documentary

In the trailer, Ali G unveils a new documentary, saying: "Yo, it's me. I has been gone for twenty years, chillin'. And in that time the world went to crap. There was covid. Wars. And Ed Sheeran. But I'ze gonna get back on top with a brand new ting called a documentary. For the first time ever, this is with real people not actors. For more than a year we let the cameras follow me everywhere. Nothing was off limits."

Ali G is joined by long-term girlfriend Julie (Morgana Robinson), who features in the 2002 Ali G and Shaggy collab Me Julie. Ali G fails to believe she is pregnant and uses her pregnancy test as a vape, before declaring that "it tastes of p**," prompting Julie to reply: "Well that's because I p***ed on it."
