Alan Titchmarsh returned to ITV screens on Sunday for the latest episode of Love Your Weekend, but made a surprising announcement just minutes into the programme: it would be the final show of the current series.
Star-Studded Finale
The popular ITV programme, which celebrates the best of the British countryside from arts and crafts to local produce, featured guests including Judy Parfitt, Brian Conley, Freddie Fox, Julian Ovenden, and Honeysuckle Weeks. Horticulturalist Ashley Edwards showcased drought-resistant plants, while food and drink specialist Andy Clarke highlighted festival fare. The cast of High Society also performed ahead of their West End debut.
Alan's Announcement
Arriving at Manor Farm with Judy Parfitt, Alan remarked: "The gleaming bonnet, the purr of the engine driving through the English countryside on a crisp morning, the sun glinting through the trees." Addressing the camera, he said: "It's the last show of the series today and we're going out with a bang. Judy, are you ready?" Judy replied: "I'm ready for anything," to which Alan added: "Driving Miss Judy. Let's get this show on the road. Time for Love Your Weekend!"
Preview of the Episode
Alan previewed the programme, saying: "Welcome to Love Your Weekend, where summer's advance continues apace. In a fortnight, we'll mark Midsummer's Day, enjoying the longest hours of sunlight, and all around us, nature thrives on its warmth." He added: "Coming up, a line-up of fun fabulousness and some familiar faces. Our VIP guests Brian Conley, Honeysuckle Weeks, and Judy Parfitt bringing the cheer and the chat as they settle into Manor Farm life."
Future of the Show
The "last show" announcement comes after Alan recently confirmed to The Telegraph that Love Your Weekend has been recommissioned through to the end of 2027, suggesting the series will return for future seasons. Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh is available to stream on ITVX.
