The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, widely considered one of the greatest games ever made, is confirmed for a Switch 2 remake launching before the end of 2026. A short teaser during June's Nintendo Direct hinted at a vibrant, reimagined art style, but an exact release date remains unannounced. Now, a new clue suggests another beloved classic may be following suit.
IMDb Update Hints at Majora's Mask HD
A mysterious change to the IMDb page of Nobuyuki Hiyama, the voice actor who portrayed Adult Link in Ocarina of Time (1998) and Fierce Deity Link in Majora's Mask and its 3DS remake, lists him as involved in remakes for both titles. According to the update, Hiyama's upcoming performance for Ocarina of Time is listed as 'archive sound' rather than a fresh recording. However, the page also includes 'mocap' for Fierce Deity Link in an unreleased and unconfirmed title: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask HD.
Post-Production Status
IMDb states that both games are in post-production, suggesting Hiyama has completed his voice work. While this is not an official confirmation from Nintendo, it fuels speculation that Majora's Mask HD could be the next Switch 2 remaster. The original Majora's Mask launched on Nintendo 64 in 2000, following Ocarina's success, and received a 3DS remake in 2015. Fans have long hoped for a full-scale home console remake.
Caution and Excitement
It is worth noting that Nintendo has not confirmed anything, and IMDb is not necessarily a reliable indicator of actual projects. However, the update has given Zelda enthusiasts fresh hope. As one fan commented, 'It's fun to speculate, and there's no harm in hoping.' In the absence of official news, the Ocarina of Time remake itself remains a major draw for Switch 2 owners.
