Teacher's TikTok on unwanted Christmas gifts sparks debate among parents

A US primary school teacher has divided opinion after sharing a TikTok video listing three Christmas gifts she would rather not receive from students. Natalie, who posts under @primaryfocus, said items in Victoria's Secret bags, sugary treats for the whole class, and romantic advances from parents are unwelcome.

Her video, which garnered over 16,000 views, prompted a backlash from some viewers who labelled her 'ungrateful'. One comment read: 'Reason why I don't give teachers c**p.' Another said: 'So negative, be grateful they got anything.'

However, some supported her views. One user suggested that if parents bring in treats, they should hand them out just before dismissal to avoid a sugar rush. Another teacher defended Natalie, saying: 'As a preschool teacher, it's disappointing you think this way.'

Natalie explained that gifts in Victoria's Secret bags are awkward, even if they contain lotion, and that sugary class treats lead to a sugar high and crash. She also noted that advances from dads are uncomfortable, advising them to 'go online and find someone'.
