GCSE Maths Questions for Teens Leave Adults Stumped

GCSE results day has arrived for millions of students across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, with pupils collecting their results in person from their school or exam centre from 8am. To test whether adults can match the skills of today's teenagers, a series of maths questions from the exams has been shared online, leaving many baffled.

The Questions That Stumped Adults

On TikTok, user @freegcsemathsteacher, who has 2.7 million followers, posted a clip featuring nine questions, though only the first six were shown as the rest involve graphs. The questions are:

2. Write 0.73 as a percentage.
3. Work out 10 x (3 + 5).
4. Write down a prime number that is between 20 and 30.
5. Find a number that is exactly half way between 7 and 15.
6. Harry is planning a holiday for 7 days. Here are the costs for the holiday for each person: Travel = £150, Hotel = £50 for each day, Spending money = £250. Work out the total cost of the holiday for 4 people for 7 days.
