Desmond Noonan charged with Salford crash driving offences

Desmond Noonan, 40, has been charged with a string of offences following a crash in Salford. Emergency services were called to Fitzwarren Street, at the junction with Seedley Road, in the early hours of Monday, August 17.

Charges brought after collision

Desmond Noonan has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, using a motor vehicle in a public place without third party insurance, driving whilst disqualified, and causing serious injury by driving whilst disqualified. He has also been charged with failing to stop after being involved in a collision, failing to report the collision, and committing an act with intent to pervert the course of public justice.

Court appearance and remand

At the scene on Monday, debris from the crash could be seen scattered across the road within the cordon. Evidence markers were on the road as investigations were carried out, with the road closed off to traffic for a number of hours. Mr Noonan, of Kensington Drive, Salford, appeared in Manchester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday morning. He has been remanded in custody ahead of his next court appearance. He is due to appear in Manchester Crown Court on September 23, 2026.
