Celebrity Traitors fans predict first exit after leaked detail

Celebrity Traitors viewers believe they have worked out which contestant will become the first to be murdered, following a leaked detail that emerged last month. The popular murder mystery programme has returned with a fresh series, featuring 19 Faithful attempting to identify the two Traitors.

This evening (October 2), either Amol Rajan or James Acaster will join Richard E Grant and Maya Jama on the dark side, following their selection for recruitment or murder. Claudia Winkleman's ultimate game of trust and deception launched with a dramatic opening on Thursday, 1 October, as the 21 famous faces were introduced to the competition.

Richard E Grant's blunder and viewer theories

She selected Richard and Maya as her Traitors, with the actor revealing his true nature almost immediately in an epic blunder, while Ross Kemp's suspicion descended upon everyone and James Blunt caused social media chaos with his 'bread and butter' revelation.

The programme concluded on a cliffhanger, as Richard and Maya enticed two celebrities to the church during the night, intending to recruit one while murdering the other. Audiences now believe they have uncovered what lies ahead, reports Wales Online.

Leaked detail points to James surviving

Fans are convinced comedian James will survive the elimination, suggesting Amol faces murder, following a leaked detail that surfaced last month regarding an incident involving James believed to take place during a Round Table - which has not yet happened. Reports emerged that during filming, James became so distressed that his fellow contestants and production staff intervened.

A source told The Sun: "The show is incredibly intense and during one particular scene at the castle, James became very anxious and panicked. Some of the other celebrities on the show spoke up and said cameras should stop rolling so he could calm down, and production were in agreement as well. Everyone looks out for each other and there is a proper sense of camaraderie. It was good for James to have a breather, as everyone felt it was for the best."

"The break didn't affect the outcome of the game at all, but showed just how passionate and tense everyone on set was. It's easy to become fully immersed."

Viewer reactions and James's fan devotion

Following this revelation, viewers believe it suggests James remains in the competition. One person posted on X: "It's gonna be James Acaster because of that news story the other day." Another commented: "Don't we know that something happens to stress James out majorly at some point so Amol has to be the one who gets murdered."

Yet another agreed: "This spoils that James is recruited." Meanwhile, others rallied behind James, with one declaring: "I need to see James Acaster's Traitor era like I need air to breathe." Another added: "If James Acaster has gone already I'll be gutted."

Prior to the series launching, James revealed the extent of his devotion to the programme. He stated: "I just love it. I'm a huge fan and have been since series one. I instantly got addicted to it when I started watching.

"I think I started watching it halfway through the first series, so I was catching up on iPlayer. I did all of it in one night and then got really frustrated that I had to wait for all the other episodes. And then I really loved the first Celebrity series and instantly became jealous that I wasn't doing it. I had to get in here!"

When questioned about his chances of victory, he responded: "I have genuinely no idea at all. Because every time I watch any of the series there seems to be no rhyme or reason. People can be really quiet, and they make it to the end. People are huge characters, and they make it to the end.

"You can be quiet and go under the radar; you can be a big character and end up putting yourself in the firing line. Anyone could get to the end. You can avoid murder or banishment by simply not being respected enough to be seen as a threat. And I think I could very easily be seen as not a threat. Yeah, I could be there to the end. It's anyone's game really."

The Celebrity Traitors continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
