A Cardiff teen who moved to Wales four years ago is celebrating after achieving an incredible 13 A* GCSEs.
A dream closer to reality
Zarar Khan, who is 16, made his way to Cathays High School on Thursday morning to pick up his results alongside his mother Seham. When he opened the envelope, Zarar was delighted to discover that he had not only passed every exam but had aced them all with A* grades.
His results included A*s in separate sciences, Welsh, English, mathematics, and RE among other subjects.
From Pakistan to Cardiff
The family moved to Cardiff from Pakistan four years ago, and Zarar has secured a place at St David's Catholic College in Cardiff from next month, where he will study biology, chemistry, and either art or psychology.
"He is very happy and has gone with his friends to celebrate and enjoy his day," said proud mum Seham. "He is very hardworking and very intelligent."
Aspiring doctor
His father is a consultant at the University Hospital of Wales, and Zarar wants to become a doctor himself. "I went with him today to collect his results and we're all very proud and elated for him," Seham added.
