Support and guidance will be available to tens of thousands of young people across Lanarkshire when they receive their Qualifications Scotland qualifications results next week.
More than 148,000 learners across Scotland will get their Nationals, Highers, Advanced Highers, and Skills for Work Awards results on Tuesday, August 4. Those completing National Progression Awards, National Certificates, and Awards will also be certified on that day and throughout the year.
How results are delivered
All learners will receive a Scottish Qualifications Certificate by first-class post. Anyone who signed up for and activated a My Qualifications Scotland account will also get results by text or email. If the certificate does not arrive, learners should contact their school, college, or training provider for their results.
The results allow young people to take the next step on their learning journey, whether continuing at school, moving to college or university, or entering employment or a workplace-based training programme. Many recipients have completed vocational and technical qualifications, including Skills for Work Awards, National Progression Awards, and National Certificates in areas such as Cyber Security, Employability, Hospitality, and Sports Education.
Support on results day
Kelly Milford, liaison manager for North Lanarkshire at Qualifications Scotland, said: “Learners should feel proud knowing their qualifications reflect the effort, knowledge, and skills they’ve worked hard to develop. Colleges, universities, and employers can equally trust in the high standard and integrity that underpins every result.”
She added: “If you’re unsure about next steps or just need some support on Results Day, our helplines are there for you. Whatever the outcome, there are plenty of routes forward and many ways to build the future you want.”
Qualifications Scotland’s free appeals service opens at 9am on Tuesday, August 4. Learners can submit an appeal directly via the Qualifications Scotland website, or ask their school, college, or training provider to submit one for them. A senior marker will carry out a marking review of Qualifications Scotland-marked assessments, and a grade may go up, down, or stay the same. Learners are advised to speak to their teacher or lecturer before submitting an appeal.
Appeals deadlines
Priority appeals are available for learners with a conditional offer for a college or university place, or for a training or employment offer. These must be submitted to Qualifications Scotland by Tuesday, August 11, or by Thursday, August 20, if the school, college, or training provider submits the appeal. All other appeals must be submitted by Tuesday, August 25, or by Friday, August 28, if submitted through the school, college, or training provider.
Helplines and further support
Qualifications Scotland’s Learner Support Hub will be available on Results Day from 8am to 6pm, and then from Wednesday to Friday, August 7, from 8.30am to 5pm. The phone line is 0345 279 1000. Skills Development Scotland’s expert advisers will also offer guidance on course vacancies, Confirmation and Clearing, apprenticeships, jobs, volunteering, or staying on at school. Their helpline is 0808 100 8000, open from 8am to 8pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, and from 9am to 5pm on Thursday and Friday, August 6 and 7.
