Jamie Redknapp's Wife Frida Admits Confusing Family with Kitchen Experiments
Frida Redknapp Confused Family with Kitchen Experiments

Frida Redknapp, the wife of former Liverpool F.C. star Jamie Redknapp, has admitted that her family was left baffled as she spent months experimenting in the kitchen. She made the comments while speaking to Gabby Logan on The Mid Point podcast about the origins of her new business venture, the cooking-blend product Frood, which aims to help families get meals on the table within minutes.

Frida's Quest for the Ultimate Kitchen Hack

Frida outlined her ambition to create the "ultimate kitchen hack" and how that led her to develop convenient versions of well-known dishes, including spaghetti bolognese and Swedish meatballs. As with most new creative endeavours, it involved a degree of trial and error. In Frida's case, she spent eight to nine months dehydrating ingredients, much to her children's curiosity.

She told The Mid Point podcast: "So I went on Amazon and I bought machines, dehydrating machines. And I started with one, then, after three days, I realised, 'Well, I need to dehydrate a lot', cos the idea was just like rolling or going. So I bought another two or three. So I lined them up on the counter. My kids came down to the kitchen and asked, 'Mum, what are you doing?' I said, 'I have an idea'."

Eight to Nine Months of Dehydration

She went on to say: "Literally, I dried every single thing you can imagine for eight to nine months, 24/7: fruit, vegetables, pulses." Gabby enquired about Jamie's reaction to the project, to which she added: "Yeah, he was very curious."

The couple tied the knot in 2021, three years after his divorce from pop star Louise Redknapp. They are now part of a blended family; Frida has three sons and one daughter from her previous marriage to Jonathan Lourie. Jamie has two sons, Charley and Beau, with Louise, and Jamie and Frida have a son named Raphael.

Blended Family Lessons

Speaking previously to Closer, Frida shed light on the family set-up and disclosed the "biggest lesson". She said: "I'm often asked about blending families and what I've learned along the way. The biggest lesson is patience. When new people come into a family, everyone needs time to adjust. We've been incredibly lucky, and one of the biggest blessings has been our youngest son, Raphael. In so many ways, he's the glue that holds everyone together. All the siblings adore him and everyone wants to come home and spend time with him. He brings everyone into the same room without even realising it."

She said family dinners also played a role, highlighting the act of sitting together, discussing their days and enjoying family time, which Frida says has brought them "closer".

Frood: Frida's 'Sixth Baby'

Frida has also called Frood her "sixth baby" in an interview with Women's Health. She revealed that she had previously been creating food content but felt an "urge" to do more. She told the publication: "About two years ago, I was at a children's party, and a mum said to me, 'Frida, I love your content, but please save me. I have three kids, I'm very overwhelmed, I work full-time, and I don't have time to cook'. That conversation planted a seed."
