For a complete recipe, Wells suggests using half an avocado, one lemon, kosher or sea salt, black pepper, extra virgin olive oil, and optional toppings like fresh chives or tomato.

To prepare, cut the avocado in half, remove the stone, and scoop out the flesh. Slice it uniformly into a bowl, drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice, then season generously with salt and black pepper. Mash for a smoother consistency or leave slices whole.
