Three Kittens Rescued from Skip in Sunderland

Three 'adorable' kittens have been rescued from a skip in Sunderland, and they are now safe in foster care. Animal charity Pawz for Thought has praised staff from Thompsons Skip Hire in Hendon, who acted quickly to save the cats.

Rescue Details

On Monday afternoon at around 2pm, yard operative Danny Conlin noticed something moving in one of the skips. He carefully picked up the three young animals. Danny, 39, and his boss Anne Ganley ensured the safety of the kittens.

Danny said: "I didn't think twice when I saw something moving, I grabbed the kittens without thinking, even though I am actually allergic to cats. We got a blanket to make sure that they were comfortable, and managed to get some milk from the local vets for them too."

Support and Donation

Anne Ganley made a £100 donation to Pawz for Thought to support the cats' future care. Danny added: "Our boss Anne was amazing, and she helped to get the cats into a much better situation than they were in before. She also made a £100 donation to Pawz for Thought to help support the adorable cats for the future, and it really brightened up my day getting to be with them."

Kittens' New Names

The kittens have been named Scoop, Muck, and Dizzy after Bob the Builder characters, due to where they were found. They are doing well in foster care.

Charity's Thanks

Pawz for Thought publicly thanked Danny and the team on social media: "A huge thank you to Thompsons Skip Hire in Hendon, Sunderland for their quick thinking, kindness, and vigilance today. These tiny kittens were discovered by Danny and the team while unloading a skip.

"Without hesitation, they stepped in to save them, calling us immediately and keeping them safe until we could help. Not only that, but they also popped into the local vets to pick up kitten formula so the babies could be fed, and even left a donation towards their ongoing care.

"We are incredibly grateful for their compassion and generosity. The kittens are now safe in foster care, where they will continue to grow, thrive, and receive all the love and care they need.

"Please note: These babies are not available to reserved at this time. They will be advertised on our website when they are old enough and ready to find their forever homes.

"Thank you again to Danny and everyone at Thompsons Skip Hire for giving these little ones the chance they deserved."
