Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins has shared an emotional update after her six-month-old daughter Georgie slept in her own room for the first time. The actress, known for playing Victoria Sugden in the ITV soap, posted a video on Instagram showing her in the nursery, where she revealed how the first night went.
First night in the big girl cot
“First night in the big girl cot,” she captioned the post. In the video, Isabel could be seen with her daughter’s new cot, and she laughed: “She slept in her own room… and apparently so did I.” She added that she had spent the night on blankets on the floor alongside her baby girl.
Isabel also mentioned that her husband, Adam Whitehead, “made the most of having the whole bed to himself and went out for a 10K this morning.” The couple welcomed Georgie Grace Whitehead on February 11 at 1:02am, weighing 8lbs 5oz, and announced her arrival on social media on February 13.
Support from fans
Fans quickly offered their congratulations. One wrote: “Well done to you both, the earlier you can get them in their own room the easier bedtime routine becomes, hopefully not too long sleeping on the floor, hope the back is holding out!” Another commented: “Aww she will love the extra space to stretch out. You both are rocking this parenting malarkey.”
At the start of the week, Isabel shared a picture of the baby monitor on her Instagram Story, with the caption: “Our big girl [face holding back tears and heart emojis]. First night sleeping in her own room by herself.”
Isabel and Adam married in a fairytale wedding at Castlefield Rooms in Manchester city centre, attended by her Emmerdale co-stars Danny Miller, Mark Jordon, Laura Norton, Jeff Hordley and Zoë Henry. Isabel, from Eccles in Salford, is set to celebrate 20 years in her role as Victoria Sugden this year.
