Arcade Club Bury, tucked away in Ela Mill, is Europe's largest video arcade and offers families a rare chance to get their money's worth. Since opening in 2015, the air-conditioned club has become a haven for gamers and nostalgia seekers, often packed with players of all ages.
New attractions and unlimited play
The venue, spread over four floors, features hundreds of retro and modern machines, from Pac-Man and Space Invaders to Donkey Kong and Sega Rally, plus modern favorites like Fortnite and Rocket League. This summer, the club has introduced the 'Summer of OutRun,' an eight-player Sega Outrun 2 SP Super Deluxe setup alongside the original OutRun Deluxe, displayed side-by-side for the first time on this scale. Additionally, a shipment of brand new Japanese arcade games has added over 30 new titles, including a giant Japanese train driving simulator that has been a hit, even among regular visitors.
Entry costs £10 for kids up to age 15 for unlimited play, £18 for those 16 and over, with free spectator entry. Blue Light Card and student card holders also get reduced entry at £10. The club offers sofas, a bar on the second floor, and a cafe on the third floor with reasonably priced food, including stone-baked pizzas from £4.95 and nachos from £2.95.
Film and TV connections
Arcade Club Bury has previously featured in film and TV, including the Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire movie, where its Star Castle and Missile Command machines were used for an authentic 80s touch, and as a major filming location for Netflix's Fool Me Once starring Michelle Keegan.
Opening hours and pricing
During school holidays, the club is open Thursday 11am-11pm, Friday 11am-midnight (adults only after 6pm), Saturday 11am-11pm, and Sunday 11am-8pm, plus bank holidays. Kids aged five to 15 pay £10 for all-day play, under-fives are free, adults pay £18, or £46 for a family of two adults and two kids. The giant train simulator is in the adults-only room (16+), which also has pool tables, pinball machines, and a bar.
