Woman Hospitalized After Collision at Dane Street Junction
A woman was left with serious injuries after being struck by a car at a busy junction in Rochdale on Wednesday, June 24. Emergency services, including police and paramedics, were dispatched to Dane Street, adjacent to the ASDA supermarket, following reports of the incident.
Images shared on social media showed multiple ambulances and police vehicles at the scene. Police tape was used to cordon off the area as investigations commenced.
Police Confirm Details of the Incident
Greater Manchester Police later confirmed that a woman was struck by a vehicle and transported to the hospital with serious injuries. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
A police spokesperson stated: "Officers were called to a woman that had been hit by a car on the Dane Street junction at the Asda. The woman in her 40s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. No arrests have been made at this time."
Road Closure Causes Traffic Disruption
The road was closed for several hours during the morning, leading to congestion and queues extending into the Curry's and ASDA car park. Motorists experienced significant delays as authorities conducted their inquiries.
