A woman who died in a crash in Woolton on Friday night has been named locally as Kelly, with bouquets of flowers and handwritten notes left at the scene on Allerton Road.
Emergency services were called to the junction of Allerton Road and High Street at around 11.30pm on Friday, September 4, after a red Nissan Juke left the road and struck a brick wall. A 38-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and her next of kin have been informed.
Tributes left at the scene
Flowers with handwritten messages have been placed at the site. One note reads: "RIP Kelly, I hope you've found your peace now girl. GBNF love from Tony xxx"
Dozens of tributes have also been shared on the Liverpool Echo's Facebook page. Leanne Blundell wrote: "My beautiful friend, my heart is in bits, you were such a gorgeous person inside and out I'll treasure our memories forever. Sleep peacefully Kell, sending love and prayers to your baby boy and your family, love you always x"
Tracy Mottram said: "Goodnight, God bless Kell, rest in peace beautiful lady xx" Becky Rebecca added: "You're at peace now Kelly, gorjus girlie, will miss you xxx" Tadie Abeki wrote: "It doesn't make any sense! Kelly, I know for a fact you've gone to a better place!!!"
Police appeal for information
Sergeant Phil Everett, of Merseyside Police's Matrix roads policing department, said: "Our thoughts are with the family members of the woman who sadly died following the collision late last night and they are being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer."
"We are in the early stages of an investigation into this incident and it is now our priority to confirm exactly how the collision occurred. We know this happened late last night when many residents may have been inside their homes but if anyone saw what happened or were driving through the area just before the incident occurred then please get in touch."
"Similarly, if you live in the area and have doorbell footage of the incident, please contact us. You may have information or footage that could be vital to our investigation."
