A sophisticated evening at a high-end Melbourne restaurant descended into chaos over the weekend when a violent brawl, involving over a dozen men, erupted in front of terrified diners.
From Toilets to Dining Room: The Brawl Escalates
The disturbance began just after midnight on Sunday morning in the bathroom of the upmarket Left Bank venue in Southbank. What started as a fight between six men quickly spiralled out of control. Their violent altercation spilled out of the backroom and into the main dining area, shocking patrons who were enjoying their meals.
In a frightening scene, the conflict expanded as at least a dozen men joined the all-in brawl. The group traded kicks and punches while hurling abuse at one another. Footage from the incident shows the sheer terror as one man was seen picking up a chair and hurling it across the room. Diners were forced to scramble to safety to avoid the flying furniture and the melee. Some of the men involved were dressed in suits, while others wore dark t-shirts.
Violent Details and Police Response
The violence was intense and personal. In the footage, one suspect is heard yelling 'f*** him up' as he encouraged others. Another man was allegedly seen stomping on a victim who had fallen to the dining room floor.
Victoria Police were called to Left Bank shortly after the brawl began, but the alleged offenders had already fled the scene before officers could arrive. It was reported that a bloodied man was seen walking towards Crown Casino in the aftermath.
Aftermath and Ongoing Investigation
The physical toll of the brawl became clear hours later. Four men from NSW presented themselves at a hospital with injuries sustained in the fight. Police were subsequently notified. A 28-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while three other victims, aged 24, 26, and 32, sustained minor injuries.
A police spokesman confirmed the sequence of events, stating, 'Investigators were told the victims were assaulted in a bathroom by two males, before the altercation continued into another room.' No arrests have been made and the investigation into the shocking incident remains ongoing.
