The attack occurred on Saturday, March 28, in Arkansas, United States. The girl, identified by police as Celeste Jackson, was killed when a neighbour's dog, which was not fenced in or kept on a chain, attacked her and dragged her into the woods.

Deputies were dispatched to the 6000 block of Norman Road at approximately 6:25 p.m. after receiving a report of an animal attack involving a two-year-old girl. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Arrests and Charges

Following an investigation by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division, Earnest Jackson, 54, Christina Hart, 41, and MaKayla Jackson, 21, were each arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor in connection with the incident.

It is unclear if they have entered pleas or retained attorneys. The dog believed to be involved is in the custody of the Pulaski County Animal Control Division.

Community Response

The girl's grandmother set up a GoFundMe page to cover funeral expenses. The page reads: "Celeste was a very smart baby who brought so much joy to our lives. She loved watching Ms Rachel, Bluey, and Stitch, and her bright spirit touched everyone who knew her."

The campaign has raised more than $5,000.
