Stephen Bear has been sentenced to 16 months in prison for breaching a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend Georgia Harrison. The sentence was handed down at Chelmsford Crown Court on Thursday.
Details of the Breach
Bear, a former Celebrity Big Brother winner, was convicted of harassment after violating the order, which stemmed from his 2023 conviction for secretly filming a sex tape of Harrison and sharing it online. The Crown Prosecution Service stated that Bear breached the order by making posts about Harrison on social media.
Judge Morgan, passing sentence, said: "You know what the terms of the order was. You understood the consequences and over a prolonged period you deliberately breached the court order. The sentence I impose must be immediate."
Impact on Georgia Harrison
Earlier, the court heard that Bear received a surge of comments after Harrison appeared on a prominent podcast and spoke openly about the case. Ms Deri Molyneux, speaking on Bear's behalf, noted that in July 2025, after the podcast appearance, he received a significant number of notifications and online comments. She also outlined personal difficulties Bear was facing at the time, which was put forward as a mitigating factor.
Georgia Harrison submitted a victim personal statement, read aloud to the court. The statement described Bear's behaviour as having a "profound impact" on her, causing "significant distress, anxiety and fear during my pregnancy which would make me worry about the baby." It added: "He's attempted to control the narrative around my life again. His online presence makes me petrified as I perceive him to be angry." She characterised Bear as "relentless with the abuse."
Court Proceedings and Reaction
Bear arrived at court accompanied by his pregnant wife, Miami, and remarked "wish me luck, guys." The couple revealed in March they are expecting their first child. While Bear appeared emotional earlier, he showed no obvious reaction as the sentence was delivered and was led to the cells. His wife and mother, seated in the public gallery, seemed visibly upset.
Following the sentencing, Harrison commended Essex Police, saying: "Essex Police took me seriously when so many women in my position are overlooked. They treated this as the serious crime it is – not a celebrity story. It is a real offence against a real person. They built the case properly, they stayed with it, and when the order was breached, they acted instead of shrugging. From the messages I get every day, I know how rare that still is. If every force treated this the way Essex Police did, thousands of women would feel safer today."
