Wilmslow Road in Rusholme, known as the Curry Mile, was temporarily closed this morning following a three-vehicle collision. The road has since reopened.
Incident Details
The crash occurred just after 8:20am on Thursday, August 6, prompting a response from police and fire crews. One fire engine from Withington attended the scene after smoke was seen billowing from one of the vehicles involved.
A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) confirmed the collision involved three vehicles. The road was closed near the junction with Thurloe Street as crews worked to make the area safe.
Response and Reopening
No serious injuries are believed to have been reported. Crews were in attendance for approximately 40 minutes, and the road was reopened around 9am.
The GMFRS spokesperson said: "Just after 8.20am on Thursday 6 August, one fire engine from Withington attended a road traffic collision between three vehicles on Wilmslow Road, Rusholme. Fire crews were called after smoke was seen coming from one of the vehicles and worked alongside colleagues from Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service to make the area safe. Crews were in attendance for around 40 minutes."
