The aircraft went down into water outside the Kenai Peninsula community of Seldovia on Wednesday, August 26. The lagoon is situated close to Seldovia's airport, and the plane sank roughly 17 feet below the surface, according to Clint Johnson, Alaska region chief for the National Transportation Safety Board.

Rescue Attempts and Response

The incident occurred at around 2.45pm, with Alaska State Troopers attempting to rescue those believed to be on board. Prior to the arrival of emergency services, people at the scene tried to reach the aircraft to help anyone inside but were unable to get to it.
