Disturbing new footage has surfaced showing the moment a large-scale fight erupted at London's popular Hyde Park Winter Wonderland on Christmas Eve, sending terrified visitors fleeing for safety.
Chaotic scenes captured on camera
The fresh images, circulating online, depict a violent stand-off between multiple men at the Bavarian Village area of the festive attraction. In the clips, two men are seen throwing punches at each other as a horrified crowd looks on.
Panicked attendees are shown scrambling away from the scene as the altercation escalates, involving two separate groups. One man, dressed entirely in black, appears to be bleeding from his nose while being restrained by a blonde woman.
Uniformed security guards eventually moved in to break up the brawl, which occurred as crowds were leaving the site. This incident follows a previously viral video which concluded with a police officer drawing a Taser on a suspect involved in the same disturbance.
Official response and visitor safety
A spokesperson for Winter Wonderland addressed the incident, stating that no injuries were reported and no arrests were made. They emphasised that the groups involved were known to each other.
"The safety of our visitors and staff is our top priority, and aggressive or threatening behaviour is not tolerated under any circumstances and is dealt with immediately by on-site security in coordination with the authorities," the spokesperson said.
They clarified that the fight took place outside the main event footprint during egress and was managed by security following established procedures, with police support. The spokesperson confirmed there was "no impact on wider site operations."
Background of the seasonal event
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is now in its 20th year, having begun as a small funfair on the edge of the royal park in 2005. The event has grown significantly, now attracting approximately 2.5 million to 3 million visits over its six-week seasonal run.
While immensely popular, the attraction has faced some criticism from visitors over pricing, with some labelling it a "rip-off" due to the high cost of food, drink, and rides on top of the entry fee.
The organisers stated they work closely with the Metropolitan Police and relevant authorities throughout the event and continually review their processes after any incident. The Mirror has contacted the Metropolitan Police for further comment.
