A 35-year-old mother of two has died after a balcony collapsed during her birthday party in Brazil, causing a 13-foot fall that led to fatal head injuries. Lorenna Moraes was celebrating with family and friends on the night of July 18, 2026, in Uruçuca, when the railing of the balcony gave way, sending her to the ground.
Details of the Incident
According to local reports, Moraes fell approximately 13 feet and suffered severe injuries, including a head wound. She reportedly went into cardiac arrest twice at the scene. Emergency responders provided treatment before rushing her to a specialist hospital in nearby Ilhéus. Despite medical efforts, she died later that night.
The cause of the balcony collapse is under investigation. Photos from the scene suggest the railing gave way, and local reports indicate Moraes may have hit her head on the kerb after falling.
Victim's Background
Moraes owned CT Evolução Academia, a gym in Ilhéus, and was well known in the local fitness community. In the days before the tragedy, she had expressed excitement on social media about opening a new branch of her business, reportedly in its final preparation stages.
She is survived by her husband, their son and daughter, and her mother. Moraes frequently shared family moments online. In a May 2026 post, she wrote: 'Holding my children's hands, hearing their laughter and creating memories that will last a lifetime… is priceless.' Earlier that month, she reflected on motherhood: 'Being a mother has completely transformed me. It has taught me about strength, devotion and boundless love. And having a mother reminds me every day where my care, my courage and my way of loving come from. I am grateful for the arms that once held me… and for the arms that I can now open to my children.'
