A man is in hospital with a serious head injury following an alleged assault on Dynevor Street in Merthyr Tydfil. Police and paramedics were called to the scene in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Two arrested on suspicion of GBH
Two men from Merthyr, both aged 20, have been arrested on suspicion of wounding or causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Both remain in police custody.
Police appeal for witnesses
Officers are appealing for anyone who was outside The Celtic Bar and Koolers Nightclub on Dynevor Street, or Clwb Crown and Peri Peri chicken and kebab on Penry Street, between 11pm on Saturday, August 22, and 2am on Sunday, August 23, to contact them.
A South Wales Police spokesperson said: "Officers are continuing an investigating into an alleged assault on Dynevor Street in Merthyr Tydfil where a man has been taken to hospital with a serious head injury.
"Two 20-year-old men from Merthyr have been arrested on Section 18 assault and remain in police custody at this time.
"Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, specifically those who were outside of The Celtic Bar or Koolers Nightclub on Dynevor Street and Club Crown or Peri Peri chicken and kebab on Penry Street, between 11pm on Saturday, August 22, through to 2am on the morning of Sunday, August 23."
