A man has been charged with outraging public decency following an alleged intimate act on a Ferris wheel at Download Festival.
Leicestershire Police launched an investigation after reports of the incident at the festival in Castle Donington on Saturday, June 13. Officers said they had been carrying out inquiries after fans waiting for Guns N' Roses to start their set reportedly saw the alleged act take place inside one of the Ferris wheel's glass pods.
Man charged and named
Innes Miller, 33, of Glastonbury Close, Edwalton, Nottinghamshire, has been charged with outraging public decency. He is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Thursday, September 10.
Leicestershire Police said a woman involved in the incident has also been identified and voluntarily interviewed. At the time of writing, she has not been charged.
Investigation ongoing
The force initially probed reports that two festivalgoers were "acting inappropriately" inside one of the Ferris wheel's pods. The alleged act reportedly took place as fans awaited the band's performance.
