Man bailed after sexual assault arrest in Bolton

Greater Manchester Police have confirmed that a man arrested in connection with a sexual assault investigation in Bolton has been released on bail. The suspect, aged 25, was taken into custody after officers responded to reports of a disturbance on Wigan Road on Saturday, July 11.

Arrest and bail update

The man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault against an adult male victim. Following questioning, police released him on bail on Monday, July 13, pending further investigation. The force has increased patrols in the area to reassure the community.

Chief Inspector Chris Boyd from GMP's Bolton district thanked the public for their support during the incident. He said: "I would like to thank the members of the public who supported prior to police arrival and the suspect's arrest.
