Man admits drugging and raping partner for 11 years

A 47-year-old man has admitted to filming himself and unknown men carrying out dozens of sex attacks on his drugged and stupefied partner over an 11-year period. He pleaded guilty to 32 charges at court on Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

Details of the Abuse

The attacks took place between 2014 and 2025, described in court as a sustained campaign of abuse. The man used his mobile phone to record the assaults, which involved various objects. Writing on the victim's body was also reported. The prosecution stated that all offences were committed while the victim had been drugged and stupefied.

Among the charges are 10 counts of assault by penetration, eight counts of rape, and four counts of sexual assault. Additionally, there are four counts of rape, four counts of assault by penetration, and two counts of sexual assault involving a person unknown. Some counts relate to multiple incidents.

Court Proceedings and Sentencing

The offender cannot be named to protect the victim's identity. Judge David Herbert KC warned him he faces a substantial prison sentence, including a life term. Sentencing is set for September 2026. Judge Herbert said: "Be under no illusions as to the length of sentence in this case."

Prosecutor Alexandra Felix KC told the court: "All of these offences were committed while the victim had been drugged and stupefied." Nathalie Carter, in mitigation, said the man claims his partner was asleep during some attacks. Carter added that her client "has made it clear from the very beginning he did not want to contest any matters" and wants to "let it rest."

Prosecution and Investigation Response

Andrew Hopkinson, district crown prosecutor for the Crown Prosecution Service East Midlands, said: "This was a sustained campaign of abuse and the victim has shown great courage throughout this process. We worked closely with Northamptonshire Police to build a thorough and compelling case that resulted in him pleading guilty to dozens of offences."

Nigel Leary, deputy director of the NCA, added: "The scale of what we have seen so far has left us deeply concerned."
