Following the death of US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, a trans influencer has posted a viral, unverified allegation that the anti-LGBTQIA+ lawmaker once paid for sex and wore red lingerie in a hotel room.
Death of Senator Lindsey Graham
Senator Lindsey Graham, 71, died on Saturday (July 11). A preliminary medical examiner report indicated his sudden death was caused by an aortic dissection stemming from cardiovascular disease. Graham was a long-serving senator for South Carolina and a major figure in America’s right-wing politics. He built a reputation as a social conservative and had a legislative record that included opposing same-sex marriage protections and supporting restrictions on transgender people.
Allegations by Trans Influencer
After news of his death broke, author and influencer Jesse James Rose posted a now-viral three-slide statement on Instagram describing an alleged experience from more than a decade earlier. Rose, who identifies as transgender, alleges that while she was a university student and before she transitioned, she did sex work and was paid by Graham for an intimate encounter.
In her post, Rose wrote: “Most of you know him as the homophobic Senator from South Carolina but to me he will always be the man who paid a pre-transition college student a fat stack of cash to do unspeakable things to him in a hotel room while he wore red lingerie,” the Sorry I Keep Crying During Sex author wrote in the three-slide post. “It is a canon trans event to have far right freaks bankrolling you & then turning around and voting against you.”
She continued: “People loooooove to judge us for it but I never see them opening their wallets!!! Shout out to s*x workers everywhere forced to humanize their enemies just to make rent.”
Rose's Further Statements
Rose further slammed: “It is an absolute mindf**k too me that one of the reasons I have any semblance of financial security (& a lack of student loans) is because of this man. At the time I had no idea who he was. “Some q**** tried to grandstand critique this, saying we shouldn’t ‘out’ people. I believe bigots with power deserve no peace or privacy, especially when they hold public office. I’m glad they did it. Icons forever.”
Rose concluded: "You loved every second of our time together and now everyone knows."
No Response from Graham's Office
Graham’s office has not issued a statement addressing the post.
