A shocking machete fight involving e-bike riders and car passengers in Hulme, Manchester, left two men seriously injured and led to two arrests, police confirmed.
The brawl, captured on dash-cam footage, unfolded on Jackson Crescent at around 3pm on Saturday, July 11, 2026. The video shows two youths on e-bikes, dressed in black with balaclavas, attacking a car stopped at traffic lights with bladed weapons. Two men then emerged from the car, also armed with machetes, and a violent confrontation ensued.
A third youth, a passenger on one of the e-bikes, was present but did not participate in the fight. The attackers eventually fled the scene.
Police Response and Arrests
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) responded to reports of an altercation involving bladed articles. A large cordon was set up at the nearby crossroads of Stretford Road and Chorlton Road on Saturday night. Two men were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A 22-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy were arrested in connection with the incident. The 17-year-old was arrested on suspicion of affray, assault, grievous bodily harm, and possession with intent to supply class B drugs. The 22-year-old was arrested on suspicion of affray, possession of a class B drug, and possession with intent to supply class B drugs, as well as evading police custody and assaulting an officer. Both remain in custody for questioning.
Ongoing Investigation
Detectives are searching for three other suspects. GMP stated there is no wider threat to the community. Anyone with information or footage is urged to contact police on 101 quoting log 2329 of July 11.
