Firefighters are battling a large blaze at St Andrews Church in Leicester city centre. The fire broke out on Wednesday morning at the historic building on Jarrom Street, sending thick smoke across the area.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Control said: "There is an incident on Jarrom Street in Leicester City, this is sending smoke over the city. Please keep windows and doors closed!" Residents nearby have been advised to take precautions as a precautionary measure.
