Influencer 'Tiny' Dies After Botched Penis Enlargement Surgery

British-Nigerian influencer Igho 'Tiny' Ubiribo, 43, died after a penis enlargement procedure in Thailand, with a post-mortem revealing the cosmetic treatment caused a fatal pulmonary embolism.

Ubiribo was on holiday in Thailand with his wife, Danielle Simba Allen, when he died. An inquest at Inner West London Coroners' Court heard that he had 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine injected into his penis at an undisclosed clinic in March.

Collapse After Massage

Following the procedure, Ubiribo and his wife went for a massage, during which he experienced chest discomfort and fainted twice. The couple were staying at a Marriott hotel in Bangkok.

Ubiribo was taken by ambulance to Sukhumvit Hospital and was initially conscious. His wife told medical staff about the cosmetic treatment, but before a recommended CT scan could be carried out, he lost consciousness.

Fatal Embolism Confirmed

Doctors determined Ubiribo had suffered a pulmonary embolism, a clot blocking a blood vessel in the lungs, and moved him to intensive care. Despite more than 100 minutes of CPR, he died in the early hours of March 6.

A UK post-mortem found cellular material in his lungs consistent with the hyaluronic acid used in the procedure. Dr Thongchai Chansirirattingkul, from Sukhumvit Hospital, said: "He had had two cases of syncope (fainting) earlier, when he was having a massage. He had had 40 milliliters of penile filler injections earlier that day."

Lavish Lifestyle and Funeral

Ubiribo's London-based GP disclosed that he had undergone joint surgery, was pre-diabetic, and battled gout, but had no other health complications. The influencer boasted more than 100,000 Instagram followers and was known for his lavish lifestyle, owning a $1.1 million property in Los Angeles' Crenshaw district and a $600,000 flat in London.

His wife works as a fashion designer and socialite, and the pair married in a glamorous ceremony in Zimbabwe in 2022. Ubiribo was buried in London in a golden casket reportedly valued at over $745,000. Attendees included Nigerian afrobeat star Davido, celebrity bartender Cubana Chief Priest, and Pastor Tobi Adegboyega.

During the service, Davido remarked: "I won't lie, it is not easy when someone like Tiny leaves. His absence is heavy; it doesn't feel real. A man of so much energy, so much presence. The silence is heavy. He is not someone I ever thought I would be speaking about in the past tense."

Hyaluronic acid penis fillers cost up to $9,000 and typically last six to nine months. Numerous urology specialists have emphasised their potentially hazardous effects.
