A violent knife attack at Huntingdon railway station has left a teenage boy fighting for his life in hospital, prompting a major police investigation into the shocking incident.
The assault occurred on the station's platform around 4:30 PM on Tuesday, sending commuters into panic as emergency services rushed to the scene. Witnesses described scenes of chaos as paramedics treated the victim before transporting him to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
British Transport Police have confirmed they are treating the incident as a serious assault and have launched an urgent appeal for information. Detective Inspector Steve Twell stated: "This was a terrifying attack on a young man simply going about his day. We believe there were several people on the platform who may have witnessed what happened."
Officers have been conducting extensive CCTV reviews and forensic examinations at the station, which serves the Great Northern route between London King's Cross and Peterborough.
