A quiet evening at Huntingdon railway station turned into a scene of horror on Saturday night when a teenage boy was brutally stabbed in a vicious attack that has left the local community in shock.
Critical Condition After Station Attack
The 17-year-old victim was discovered with multiple stab wounds at approximately 11:20 PM on Saturday evening, prompting an emergency response from paramedics and police officers. According to British Transport Police, the teenager was rushed to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge where he remains in a critical but stable condition, fighting for his life.
Urgent Manhunt Underway
Detectives have launched a major investigation to track down those responsible for what they're describing as a "targeted attack." The British Transport Police have confirmed they are following several lines of enquiry and are urgently appealing to witnesses who were in the station area between 11 PM and midnight.
Detective Inspector Steve Twell from British Transport Police stated: "This was a horrific incident that has left a young man fighting for his life. We are determined to find those responsible and bring them to justice."
Community Shock and Increased Patrols
The attack has sent shockwaves through the Huntingdon community, with local residents expressing their horror at the violence occurring at their local station. In response to the incident, police have increased patrols in the area to provide reassurance to concerned commuters and residents.
