A violent stabbing at Huntingdon railway station has left a man hospitalised with serious injuries, triggering a major police response and temporary station closure during Thursday evening's rush hour.
Violent Attack on Station Platform
Emergency services rushed to the Cambridgeshire station after reports of an assault around 5:30 PM, discovering a victim with significant stab wounds on the platform. Paramedics provided immediate critical care before transporting the man to hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition.

The brutal attack forced authorities to close the entire station for several hours, causing significant disruption to Thameslink and Great Northern services during peak travel time. Commuters faced lengthy delays and alternative transport arrangements as forensic teams scoured the crime scene for evidence.
Police Manhunt Underway
Cambridgeshire Police have launched a full-scale investigation to identify and apprehend the attacker, who fled the scene before officers arrived. Detective Inspector Mark Barber confirmed: "We're pursuing multiple lines of enquiry and appealing for witnesses who may have seen the altercation or suspicious activity around the station."
