A violent knife attack at Huntingdon railway station has left a man hospitalised with serious injuries, sparking a major police investigation into the shocking incident.
Emergency services descended upon the Cambridgeshire station after receiving reports of a stabbing on Tuesday afternoon. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
British Transport Police have confirmed they are treating the incident as a serious assault and have launched a comprehensive investigation. Officers remain at the scene conducting forensic examinations and reviewing CCTV footage from the station.
Detective Inspector James O'Connor stated: "This was a terrifying incident for those present, and we're working tirelessly to establish the full circumstances. We believe there were several people in the area who may have witnessed what happened and we're urging them to come forward."
