A shooting near a college American football celebration in Florida left 12 people injured, including six children, on Saturday night. The incident occurred near Bragg Memorial Stadium in Tallahassee during Florida A&M University's homecoming weekend.
Investigation Underway
No arrests have been made, and investigators are working to identify those responsible, the Tallahassee Police Department said on Sunday. Police have established a tip line and are asking the public to submit tips, photos, and video to assist the investigation.
Tallahassee Police Chief Lawrence Revell said: "We know there are people who saw something, heard something or may have video that could help us piece together exactly what happened. We need our community's help. No detail is too small, and no piece of information should go unreported."
Details of the Incident
Police indicate that a fight broke out as crowds were leaving the football celebration before the shooting started. Eleven of the 12 injured people suffered gunshot wounds, and six people remain in hospital, with one person in critical condition.
Clips shared online show people fleeing the scene as the celebration turned violent. The university said on social media that the shooting happened near its campus and that it remained safe.
