O2 has launched a new way to buy Apple's AirPods, making them more affordable for UK shoppers. The mobile network is offering the latest AirPods 5 for just 8p per day on a three-year plan, and you don't need to be an O2 subscriber to take advantage.
How the AirPods 5 deal works
The AirPods 5, priced at £119, are available for £30 upfront, followed by £2.57 a month over 36 months at 0% APR. That works out to 8p per day, with no interest to pay, meaning the instalment plan doesn't cost more than buying outright. The total price is £122.52.
O2 explained the offer in a statement: "O2 is giving commuters an affordable way to plug in rather than play out loud, with AirPods available from just 8p a day."
AirPods 5 features and the Pro 3 alternative
The AirPods 5 have only just launched and feature improved sound, long battery life, noise cancelling technology, and simple connection to iPhones. Apple has also included Adaptive EQ, which automatically adjusts the sound to optimise what you're hearing.
For those wanting something more impressive, the AirPods Pro 3 offer class-leading Active Noise Cancellation, the ability to check hearing, and they even work as a hearing aid. They cost £219, but O2 is offering a similar monthly deal: £55 upfront, followed by £4.56 a month over 36 months, with no interest to pay.
If you'd rather buy the AirPods outright, they are available at Apple and all of the UK's biggest retailers, including Argos, Currys, and Amazon, all at £119.
