The family of a mother and her two children who were discovered dead at their home has spoken of their 'unimaginable loss'. Natalie, 15, and Nala, five, were found alongside their mother Nothabo Zandile Tshuma at a property near Bedford on Monday. Police forced entry into the house after reports that the family had not been seen for several days.
Suspect named as husband and father
Bedfordshire Police have named Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, also known as Mark, the husband of Zandile and father of the two girls, as a murder suspect. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
The family expressed their grief in a statement, saying: 'Our hearts are shattered. We are struggling to comprehend this unimaginable loss. Natalie and Nala were bright, beautiful girls with their whole lives ahead of them. Zandile was a loving mother and a cherished member of our family. We ask for privacy as we mourn.'
Community in shock
Neighbours described the family as quiet and private. One resident said: 'It's absolutely devastating. You never think something like this could happen on your street.' Police have cordoned off the house and are conducting forensic examinations. No further details about the cause of death have been released pending post-mortem results.
Bedfordshire Police Detective Chief Inspector Carl Foster said: 'This is a tragic incident that has resulted in the deaths of three people. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of those who have died. We are working tirelessly to establish the full circumstances.'
The suspect remains at large, and police have urged the public not to approach him but to call 999 immediately if seen.
