Drug dealer stabbed by supplier outside his home

A drug dealer was stabbed outside his home while attempting to collect thousands of pounds worth of cocaine, a court has heard. Scott Richard Weale suffered "life-threatening injuries" when he was stabbed by a man he had arranged to buy £4,000 worth of the Class A drug from.

Weale appeared in court on Monday after admitting being concerned in the supply of cocaine in December 2024. Richard Edwards, prosecuting, told the court the 28-year-old had exchanged text messages with an upstream supplier called Callum Samuels between December 12 and December 14, 2024.

Arranged Purchase of Cocaine

Mr Edwards said Weale arranged to buy 6.5ozs of cocaine for £4,000 from Samuels. Police found a message sent to Weale which read: "I've bagged you up 6.5 for 4,000 straight off the brick," reports North Wales Live.

However, on December 14, Samuels went to Weale's home and stabbed Weale outside the property, the court heard. Weale sustained life-threatening injuries, said Mr Edwards.

Police Search and Court Proceedings

Police also searched the defendant's home and discovered £3,570 cash and 11g of ketamine. Weale told officers the ketamine was for personal use.

The judge, Her Honour Nicola Jones, said: "You arranged to buy 6.5oz of cocaine from an upstream supplier. Eventually that supplier went to your home and stabbed you causing life threatening injuries."

"He was arrested. Analysis of his phone revealed this proposed drug deal with you."

Sentence and Deterrent

At Caernarfon Crown Court, judge Jones handed Weale a 12-month jail term, suspended for 12 months. She told the 28-year-old, of Nantmel, Llandrindod Wells, Powys, there would be no additional punishment because he had had the "strongest possible deterrent as you nearly lost your life".

She added: "You have had a salutary lesson - more than most." She also noted Weale has not committed any further offences in the two years since the cocaine offence. There was no separate penalty for possession of the ketamine.
