Detectives are investigating a suspected murder-suicide after the bodies of Stacy Mair, 35, and her husband Jim, 43, were found dead in their remote cottage in the Houston area of Renfrewshire. Both worked for TRS Tree Surgery, based in Glasgow.
Police received a report of concern for a person on Corsliehill Road at around 7.50am on Monday, 27 July. Emergency services attended and discovered the bodies. The deaths are being treated as unexplained while post-mortem examinations are carried out.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'An investigation is ongoing into the deaths of a 35-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man in the Houston area. At this time, there is nothing to suggest anyone else has been involved. Their relatives are aware and are being supported by specialist officers.'
Forensic examination at scene
The couple's home was surrounded by detectives and officers carrying out forensic examinations. All surrounding roads were closed off. Extensive enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances.
