US rock band Buckcherry's tour bus was involved in a fatal multi-vehicle collision in Spartanburg County, South Carolina, resulting in one fatality. The band confirmed the incident on social media, stating that all members of Buckcherry and their touring crew are safe and unharmed.
Band members unharmed after crash
The band's lineup, including singer Josh Todd, guitarists Stevie Dacanay and Billy Rowe, bassist Kelly LeMieux and drummer Francis Ruiz, were all unharmed following the incident. The crash occurred after Buckcherry's gig at The Orange Peel in Asheville, North Carolina, approximately 70 miles from the scene.
In a statement, the band said: "We are extremely grateful to report that all members of Buckcherry and our touring crew are safe and unharmed."
Fatality confirmed by authorities
"Tragically, authorities have confirmed that the collision that occurred ahead of our bus resulted in a fatality," the statement continued. "Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the family and loved ones of the person who lost their life. We sincerely appreciate everyone who has reached out with concern and support."
Local news outlets reported that the South Carolina Department of Transportation confirmed a pedestrian was struck and killed on the I-26 motorway. After the pedestrian stepped out of his vehicle, he was reportedly hit by a Toyota saloon and declared dead at the scene.
Tour continues despite incident
Buckcherry are currently touring the US as part of their Roar Like Thunder Tour. Despite the incident, their scheduled gig in Fort Lauderdale went ahead as planned, with Florida and Texas as their next destinations. No additional changes were revealed concerning the group's upcoming tour dates.
Buckcherry originally came together in Anaheim, California, in 1995 and emerged as one of America's most recognisable hard rock bands of the late 1990s and 2000s. They unveiled their self-titled first album in 1999, followed by their second record Time Bomb in 2001, before disbanding. Frontman Josh Todd and guitarist Keith Nelson subsequently reformed the group in 2005 with fresh members, releasing some of their most popular tracks, including Crazy B*tch and Sorry.
