A nine-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital following a serious collision in Kings Norton, Birmingham. A man and a woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Crash at Masshouse Lane
Police were called to Masshouse Lane at the junction of Shannon Road at around 5.55pm after reports of a two-car crash. The boy was found with life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital in a critical condition, a West Midlands Police spokesperson confirmed.
The arrested man and woman were also taken to hospital for assessment following the incident.
Police Appeal for Information
West Midlands Police urged anyone with information to come forward. The force said: "We're appealing for information following a serious collision in #Birmingham earlier this evening. We were called to Masshouse Lane at the junction of Shannon Road in Kings Norton at around 5.55pm to reports of a two-car collision. A nine-year-old boy was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition. A man and a woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. They were taken to hospital to be checked over. We are appealing to anyone who was in the area just before and around the time of the collision and in particular anyone who has any dash-cam footage to get in touch. Masshouse Lane at the junction of Shannon Road remains closed."
