Birmingham Hotel Guests Evacuated in Pyjamas After Fire

Guests at the Hampton by Hilton on Broad Street in Birmingham were evacuated from the hotel on Thursday morning, with some seen outside in their pyjamas.

Fire Crews Respond to Alarm

Three fire engines were dispatched to the scene after the fire alarm sounded at around 8am on Thursday, August 20. A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire control said the initial call was received at 8.04am. Two fire engines were positioned at the front of the property and one at the rear.

Dozens of people, including children, gathered outside the hotel. Firefighters were present, and guests were unsure when they would be allowed back inside.

Hotel Details and Location

The hotel is situated next to Snobs nightclub on Broad Street and offers rooms from approximately £64 per night. It is a popular choice among concert attendees and holds a four out of five star rating on TripAdvisor.

A statement on the hotel website said: "Our Broad Street hotel is within a half-mile of Utilita Arena, the ICC, the National SEA LIFE Centre, and restaurants. City Centre attractions like the Birmingham Museum Art Gallery and Bullring and Grand Central are less than a mile away. We're about four miles from Aston Villa Football Club. Enjoy our lounge, free hot breakfast, and free WiFi."

A spokesperson for Hilton has been contacted for comment.
