Tributes to 'genuine, caring and kind' dad killed in A472 crash

The family of Craig Assirati, who died following a crash on the A472, have paid tribute to the father-of-two. The 43-year-old was a passenger in an Audi A5 when it crashed near Crumlin on Saturday, October 24.

Craig's family have described him as a "weird and wonderful" man after he was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. His wife has called him her "soul mate and best friend", while his children say he was not just their dad but their "best friend".

Family Tributes

His wife, Eloise, said: "My soulmate and best friend, I can’t believe this has happened. This loss will be too much to bear for the rest of my life, I miss you more than words can say and I can’t wait to see you again. You are my forever and always."

Craig's parents, Cherie and Ken, also paid tribute to their first born, saying: "Our first born, mischievous, naughty boy we miss and love you more than anything."

His children, Chelsea and Kai, said: "Dad, you taught us to enjoy life to the max and not care what other people think. You weren’t just our dad but our best friend too and we love everything about you even your crazy ideas and meal creations. We love you so much Daddy."

The full family tribute reads: "Craig was a weird and wonderful human, life and soul of every party and always unapologetically himself. He lived life to the very fullest - from being a much-loved husband, dad, son, brother to Brett and Dane, the fun uncle, friend and everything in between. He loved his family and friends deeply and would be there for anyone who needed it at the drop of a hat.

"He had a passion and love for bikes, quads, cars anything with wheels and holidays with endless adventures. Any activity you can think of he would be up for doing, he grabbed life with both hands and rode off with it. Our loveable rogue, a genuine, caring and kind soul who will be deeply missed by everyone. We love you so, so much our very own Peter Pan."
