A night of Halloween celebrations turned to tragedy when an 18-year-old's vampire-themed party ended in a fatal crash that has left the Beenleigh community in shock.
Caden Case, described by heartbroken friends as "the life of the party," had been celebrating at a Halloween gathering before getting behind the wheel of his white Ford Falcon ute in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The Final Moments
Emergency services were called to the corner of James and Main Streets in Beenleigh, approximately 35km south of Brisbane, around 2:15am after reports of a single-vehicle crash.
Queensland Police confirmed the vehicle had been travelling along James Street when the driver lost control, mounting the kerb and colliding with multiple objects before coming to rest.
"Despite the efforts of emergency services, the 18-year-old driver was declared deceased at the scene," a police spokesperson stated.
A Community in Mourning
The tight-knit Logan City community has been left reeling from the loss of the popular teenager. Friends and family have created a makeshift memorial at the crash site, with flowers, notes, and photographs paying tribute to the young man.
One emotional tribute left at the scene read: "Fly high, Caden. You were taken too soon."
