Coronation Street has confirmed that Jodie Ramsey is behind the anonymous trolling campaign targeting Daniel Osbourne. The character, played by Rob Mallard, has been receiving abusive messages from an account named 'Truthteller' after the truth about his partner Megan Walsh grooming Will Driscoll came to light.
In Monday's episode, Daniel showed Jodie some of the messages while at the Viaduct Bistro. One read: 'This person thinks I should be in prison with Megan.' Jodie advised him to ignore it but Daniel began to doubt his earlier theory that Megan was responsible. Jodie then suggested that David Platt, who was sitting nearby, might be the culprit.
When Jodie went to the bathroom, Daniel received another message from Truthteller and confronted David. David denied involvement, saying: 'I've got a sick daughter in hospital, I've got better things to be spending my time on!' He showed Daniel he was watching a video of his daughter Lily, and Daniel apologised.
Later, Jodie urged Daniel to stop trying to identify the troll, saying it was 'driving you a bit mad'. She offered to stay longer instead of finding her own place, and he agreed. While Daniel prepared food, Jodie was seen posting another Truthteller message: 'How Daniel Osbourne is still a teacher, I don't know. He clearly has a dodgy history with his students...'
Viewers will have to wait to see Jodie's endgame, but it appears Daniel's ordeal is far from over.
